Warfarin self-testing North East
April 28, 2016

On warfarin? Why wait? Test yourself…

Roche has launched a TV advertisement campaign across the North East of England to raise patient awareness of INR self-testing.

For the team here at NHS Health Call this gives us a great opportunity to let warfarin patients living in the County Durham and Darlington region know about our INR self-testing service.

Our service enables patients to self-test their INR from home using a CoaguChek ® XS device, and connects patients to their nurse or GP remotely. Patients are able to arrange a convenient day and time to carry out their test, and communicate their readings using a method that suits them. Patients no longer have to attend appointments and take time out of their day. Instead, they can manage their warfarin as and when it suits them.

What are the benefits of INR self-testing for patients?
–  Patients are able to enjoy greater independence and quality of life
–  It saves time and money associated with clinic visits
–  An improved feeling of wellbeing
–  It can reduce their risk of a stroke, bleeding and clots

Watch out for the TV advertisement being shown throughout April and May during the advertisement breaks of shows such as Emmerdale, This Morning and Coronation Street.
